Assignments - Resolve blank document submissions for Chromebooks
Have you ever filled out a document on your Chromebook only to upload it to your instructor and it appears blank? This tutorial provides instruction and resources on how to get around the blank document submission issue.
Why does this occur?
This occurs only in Chromebooks because they have a special feature called "Office Editing for Docs, Sheets & Slides" (image above shows the tool) that allows you to view and edit documents on websites and Blackboard when you click on a file link. When you click a file name in Blackboard, for all other computers the file will simply download. Although the feature allows you to save your work, (and if you have used it to fill out documents there is a chance your work is saved on your Chromebook in Downloads!) it is difficult to keep track of where the file gets saved, how much is saved and to continue to work on the same file.
Continuing to use the tool may result in lost work.

I already used this to do work, how do I find or save my lost work?
If you have used the tool there is a chance a copy is in your Downloads area. Click through your document files in Downloads. Once you locate your work we recommend to rename it! Explore the tutorials below on how to do this by clicking their names:
