Using The Flex Office
Each campus has a series of Flex offices that allows user to easily connect their school laptops to a large 24inch monitor or can utilize the computers attached to them. Connecting to the Monitor Each monitor has a USB C cable (similar to your docking station wire) hanging on the table or behind the monitor. Please plug this into your laptop USB C port (the port is found on the left). Your screen should display on the monitor. (see the image as a reference) Extend Your Monitors (utilize the two screens) You may notice your screens are the same or in duplicate mode. If you want to utilize two different screens we need to change from duplicate mode to extended mode. - Right-click on an empty space on your desktop and a menu will pop up - Click on Display settings - The Display menu will pop up, scroll down near the bottom under Multiple displays you will see it say Duplicate these displays, click on it - Change it to Extend these displays - Scroll back to the top and you should see screens 1 and 2 - Click Identify to make sure the numbers match up. 1 on the left and 2 on the right (they will show up on the bottom left of each monitor) For example, using the photo above monitor 1 should be located on the left, and monitor 2 should be on the right. If monitor 1 is really on the left we will need to drag monitor 1 to where 2 is Using Teams or Zoom Before you can utilize Teams or Zoom, you will need to pop out the webcam from the top of the monitor. You can do this by pressing down and the camera will pop up. Now that the webcam is open you should be able to use any video conferencing software. Please make sure your device settings are set like below: (These settings will utilize the monitor webcam and microphone instead of the built-in webcam on your laptop) Video Device: Dell Monitor RGB Webcam Microphone: Echo Cancelling Speakerphones
