How do I get content from Commons?
Commons allows faculty and staff to upload and share content with each other! If you find something you would like to use in your course you can download it from the Commons.
Locate the Import from Commons button.
- Log into Canvas through myBristol and click on your course from the Dashboard.
- You will land on the Home for your course.
- On Home, look to the right and click on the Import from Commons button to begin.

Browse the Commons.
- You will notice separate items listed. Each includes an image and other details. For example, the 3 items below are labeled as modules to let you know a module will be included.
- Once you find the content you would like to preview and potentially download click on its name.

Preview Content and Locate Imports/Download
- Preview what is included in your download by clicking on the names of the items listed. To the left of this you will see the number of items included along with what type of content it is. This list can be clicked on to filter the list.
- If you are ready to download click the Import/Download button on the right side of the screen.
- Alternatively, if you want to go back to the Commons to browse other content, click the Back to Search button in the upper left corner.

Import/Download Content
- Check off the course(s) you would like the content to be imported into.
- Next, click on the Import into Course button to start the process.

Check your Course for the Import

- You should see a message saying, "You have successfully started the import! It may take a little while to see changes in your course."
- Keep checking your course until you see the content appear. If you downloaded a module, scroll to the bottom of your module list to view the new content.
