Azure - Free Account Credit

Purpose:

This is a guide for students to create their Azure account for free Azure account credit. The guide will also cover college resources provided with Azure for CIS students.

Requirements:

Active myBristol account

Part 1: Account Creation and Claiming Free Azure Credit

Step 1: Signing up

Head to https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/free/students/ to begin the process.

Click the green button to begin.

Step 2: Sign into your mybristol account

You will be prompted to enter your mybristol account.
Enter your account credentials.

Step 3: Fill out Academic Verification Form

After entering your mybristol account. You will be brought to the Academic Verification Form.
Enter your student information in the form. This will be used to verify you're a student.

Step 4: Fill out Profile Information (Name, email, address, phone number)

Step 5: Multi-Factor Authentication

You may be asked to set up multi-factor authentication.
Select either Microsoft Authenticator, Phone, or hardware token.

Step 6: After setting up your multi-factor authentication you will be prompted to sign in with your mybristol account.

Step 7: Welcome to Microsoft Azure.

Part 2: Navigating to CIS College Azure Learning Resources

Step 1: Navigate to the Education Service

When you're logged into Azure search for the Education Service.
Or click the Education button on the home screen.

Step 2: Navigating to Software tab

Once you're at the Education Service, to view available software click the "Software" tab.

Step 3: Welcome to your CIS Software Page

You'll now be at your Education Software page.
If there is any particular software you need to find make sure to use the search box. (Highlighted in red)
