How to install a printer
Note: Please close all Microsoft applications before installing the printer. Closing these applications ensures that Microsoft programs correctly configure page settings for printing during the printer installation process. If these applications remain open, you may experience an error to print after the printer is installed.
How to install a printer
1. Open File Explorer (this is the manilla file folder icon that’s usually located on the bottom tray of your screen).

2. In File Explorer go to the search bar at the top, type \\srv-printing and then hit the Enter key on your keyboard to go to the printer installations.

3. Find the printer you would like to install. The name of the printer should correspond with the appropriate room number. In this example, let’s say we are in G126 so the printer we would want to install would be
. Double-click on the printer to run the installation.

The name of the printer can also be found physically on the printer itself as a white label.
4. A window will appear to confirm the printer has been installed successfully.

5. Now we will need to set our new printer as the default. That way, when you go to print something, it will automatically select our newly installed printer. On the bottom on your screen search for Control Panel and open it.

6. With Control Panel open, search for printer in the top-right search bar.

You should see Devices and Printers at the top of the menu.

Right-click on it and in the sub menu click on Open in new window.

7. A new menu will open showing your installed printers. Right click on your printer and select Set as default printer.

While you're in this menu you can also remove any printers you no longer use. Any printer that has on srvprint, on srv-print and on srv-pharos in the name can safely be deleted.
8. You may need to close and re-open whatever it is you're trying to print. In the print dialogue box, verify the correct printer is selected.
