How to Course copy in Canvas
In this tutorial we will show you how to copy your entire course into another course. This will allow you to course copy.
Disclaimer
If you have Automatically apply grade for missing submissions (located when you click the grey wheel inside of the Gradebook in Canvas) turned on in the old course you would like to copy forward, choose one of two options below before course copying. If you do not have this feature turned on you can skip to step 2.
Option 1: Update due dates during course copy
You will see an option to shift your dates forward during the steps below. Moving your dates forward will update your dates for the new semester and prevent auto grades from populating in your new course. Auto grades will populate after the new due dates have passed. If you don't update your due dates during the course copy the auto apply will detect all your due dates have passed in your new course and fill your new gradebook with automatic grades.
Option 2: Turn off Automatically apply grade for missing submissions until you update your due dates
Turn off Automatically apply grade for missing submissions in the old course before course copying. This alternative option will prevent your new gradebook from filling up with automatic grades because it detects old due dates. Once you have completed the copy and updated your dates in the new you can turn this option back on.
