Assignments - Submitting an Assignment
This tutorial explains how to submit an Assignment. Assignments submissions are private between you and your instructor. Typically, instructors expect students to provide a file attachment when they submit an assignment. Unless your instructor has requested something different, we recommend to upload a PDF or Word Document version of your work.
Step 1:
Instructors can create assignment submission links just about anywhere in their course site. Click on the name of an assignment to submit to it. Assignment links look like this:
Step 2:
On the page that appears, instructions, assignment information and any grading rubrics will be available at the top of the page. Read this information before proceeding.
Step 3:
Scroll to the submissions area of the page. Here you will see 2 ways to submit: Create Submission or Upload Files. Choose 1 of the 2 ways, based on the assignment's instructions.
Note! The Add Comments is optional. Only add a comment after using 1 of the 2 ways to submit. This will sent your comment to your instructor along with your submission.
Step 4:
Let's go over the 2 ways: Create Submission or Upload Files:
Create Submission:
Use this option if your instructor has asked you to type your response directly within the course site. You will be provided a text box for typing.
Upload Files:
Use this option if your instructor has requested you upload a copy of your work as a file. You will be presented with two options: Browse Local File and Browse Cloud Service.
Browse Local Files: Choose this if your file is stored on your device! This will allow you to search your device and attach a copy.
Browse Cloud Service: Choose this if you made your submission using Google Docs in Google Drive, Word in OneDrive, or have it stored in Dropbox or Box. This will allow you to search that Cloud Service and attach a copy.
Step 5:
Once you have created a submission or uploaded a file, click the Submit button in the lower-right corner of the screen. This will successfully submit your work for grading!
