Zoom - How to join a live zoom class - Student
There are multiple ways to connect to a live class meeting. This will depend on your teacher! Regardless, all ways will open and use the program you installed onto your device. Below are examples of how your teacher may set up and ask you to join a Zoom call.
Before you join: Waiting rooms
You might encounter the waiting room before entering any Zoom meeting. The waiting room is a white rectangular window and it will say one of two things. Either waiting for the host to start the meeting, or waiting for the host to admit you. Both rely on the teacher taking action and you simply waiting. It is best to join a meeting close to or at the designated start time.

If your teacher directs you to the Bristol Zoom homepage, it is easy to join a Zoom meeting. You will click on the join meeting button. First enter the Meeting ID, provided by your instructor, and then the passcode. You might not need to enter a passcode, depending on how your instructor chooses to use Zoom.

Joining through email
In rare cases as a student, your teacher might set up a Zoom meeting through Office365. Your Office365 account is where your Bristol email lives, as well as other powerful resources. One feature inside your email is a calendar. This can be found as a button on your Bristol email page in the upper right hand corner.
